The dreaded Bulawayo football giants, Highlanders FC, will be flying into Johannesburg in early November 2012 to play Wits University FC at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
The forthcoming friendly, between these two premier league giants has been confirmed and all that remains is to put a few final touches on the logistics. The SA based representatives of Bosso, are working around the clock with their Wits FC counterparties to finalise the technicalities.
This year's friendly between Bosso and Wits University comes hot on the heels of a hugely successful friendly that was held (at Ellis Park between Bosso and Bloemfontein FC) in July 2011 from which Bosso raised in excess of R150 000 (net of all expenses like flights , accommodation, food etc . etc). And of course the direct benefit of that money was the fact that it was wisely used by the Bosso executives to acquire the services of the great Zambian coach, Kelvin Kaindu. The result, as they say, is history.
The main objective of this year's friendly will be to showcase the hugely under-utilised Bosso supporters in the South African football arena, and, through that, to facilitate the possibility of signing a partnership between Bosso and Wits University FC .
If Wits FC partners with Bosso through a twinning mechanism, Wits could benefit from the support and partronage of the diehard Bosso fans who reside within the vicinity of Wits University. It is noteworthy that Wits University FC already has an array of sponsors inclusive of its owner Bidvest Bank, which could also benefit Bosso by giving it access to advanced and developed infrastructure through technical expertise, inter alia.
