Gould To miss on 2013 Caf finals

In 2010 Morgan Gould, then with SuperSport United, was ruled out of the FIFA World Cup due to injury. Two years later the central defender is on the Kaizer Chiefs roster and in jeopardy of missing out on the 2013 African Cup of Nations, again due to injury.

Gould has been sidelined for up to six months after tearing his Achilles tendon and if he remains out of action for the full term, he will only return to action in February of 2013, meaning that he will miss out on the Afcon.

The Bafana Bafana player says that his latest set-back is frustrating. He understands that it is a part of the game but admits that it is heartbreaking to miss out on two major competitions hosted on South African soil.

"It is heartbreaking. It is frustrating. Every player wants to play in such tournaments and to miss out on two of them through injury is so painful. I know such things happen in football but it is frustrating.

"It has happened to top footballers and at times we have to live with it, but it is frustrating. This is life and there is nothing I can do," the former Jomo Cosmos defender said.
