Quelaton 1
A super charged Highlanders produced a seven star performance to dismantle Quelaton in a lope sided but entertaining match at BF this afternoon. The win saw Bosso create history by becoming the first team in Zim football to go for 16matches unbeaten eclipsing Charles Mhlauri’s Caps United who went 15games unbeaten at the turn of the millennium. It was also the first time for Bosso to score 7 goals in a single match since 1999 when a Zenzo Moyo & Thabani Masawi inspired Bosso massacred Zim Saints by a similar scoreline.
Quelaton came into the match buoyed by the fluke 1 all draw they managed against Bosso a fortnight ago but today came up against a fired up Highlanders, itching to separate boys from men. Philani Beefy Ncube’s charges were taught a football lesson by the masters of the game that they won’t ever forget.
Bosso showed serious intent from the word go & piled on pressure after pressure on the Quelaton defence & it was a question of when and not if we were going to get the goals. A well worked corner had Simon Munawa with acres of space only for him to shoot wide. Bhekimpilo Ncube, trying to exorcise the ghost of his `miss of the season` from the last game, got a similar chance with a quarter of the hour gone but like last time fluffed it. The knives were out for him.
The relentless waves of attack were not about to cease. Bruce Kangwa dribbled his way into the box & was felled, but the referee told him to get up as it was a soft penalty claim. Kangwa then turned provider for the skipper Mapuranga whose flashing header found the side netting.
Kangwa was having a field day on the left-wing, his next cross was rammed home by Milton Ncube to open the Bosso account. A few minutes later Bhekimpilo found himself in space again & this time he made sure when he thumped the ball into the nets with his right boot. We went to the breather leading two nill.
With fans still scratching their heads, wondering how we had suddenly become poor at penalties, Beavan Chikaka broke through on the right and was taken down from behind and the referee had no choice but to award another spot kick. This time Ariel Sibanda wrestled the ball from the out field players and dispatched the penalty high to the right of the keeper, 3-0.
The second half started off like a house on fire with Peter Rio dribbling his way into the box and forcing a Quelaton defender to involuntarily draw out his hand & touch the ball. A penalty was awarded. For the second time in as many matches Bosso missed the spot kick, this time the culprit being Milton Ncube. He placed his kick low to the left and the keeper turned it away.
Quelaton were on the ropes, we shifted to an even higher gear and Kangwa delivered a cross again which an unmarked Mambare met with a bullet header, 4-0. Milton then made amends & and made 5-0 to get his brace.
The boys then began ‘displaying’ & against the run of play Quelaton broke loose and were awarded penalty when their striker was felled. The keeper returned the favour to Ariel when he scored the consolation. Kaindu rang the changes and brought in Ozias Zibande, Honest Moyo & Hariten Masuku.

Super sub Oziziey then grabbed a brace with the second goal a contender for goal of the season. He let fly with his left boot from 30yards out to the top left corner. What a performance! Bring on Caps United!
