Born Sibusiso Sibanda as the second child in a family of three, he was sired by Allan Sibanda to Monica Mhlanga on the 8th of April 1979 at Mpilo Hospital.

Ms Mhlanga originated from cross Tohwe in Nkayi, and Sibanda (senior) is from Esiphezini koChief Sigola (Esigodini). Sbue grew up in the Makokoba Township of Bulawayo and did his primary education at Lobhengula Primary School at Makokoba.

He also attended Mathetshaneni Primary School in Nkayi and then Lotshe before proceeding for his secondary schooling at Mzilikazi (Mgandani) upto Form 4.

He went to Amavevane who were being coached by Clement Chimimba, and he was also coached by Tshuks Tshukela Tshuma at Division 1, with the likes of Tatenda Magaisa and Fazo Ndlovu.

He used to play for Stops FC at Ross Camp alongside Musa Mguni, Ezrom Nyandoro, Dalisiwe Dlamini, Malizwe Mpofu, Mgcini Mhlophe, Johannes Ngozo, Vusa Nyoni, Collymore Ncube, Vusa Tshabalala, Petros Ngozo, Aggrippa Sibanda just to name a few.
