Highlanders Football Club of Zimbabwe arrive in South Africa for a KICK-OUT XENOPHOBIA Campaign diski match against Jomo Cosmos Football Club of South Africa.
This blog has given tickets to Thulie Ndlovu, Busani Ndebele, Busani Mthombeni, Bekezela Maduma Fuzwayo, Allan Mpofu, Friendman, and Mannix Sibanda. Like many other people have tickets already, Southern Africa Women of Immigration Affairs, SAWIMA encourages you to get yours now at Checkers and/or Computicket Points, and to come early for the match, to relive the 2010 World Cup fever.
Bosso is a team in the hearts of many, and they need to see if the fans still care despite their current slump in form. For many supporters in South Africa, the only time they get to see their favourite Black and White team they call Mantengwane in action, is when the travel home during the festive season, and usually, the diski season will be over. Come to the Johannesburg Stadium on the 25th of July 2010.
Bosso are said to owe more than $200 000,00 but the one time pride of Zimbabwe, which provided the pivot of the Dream Team of Reinhard Fabisch, consisting of Mercedes 'John Rambo' Sibanda, Madinda 'Khathazile' Ndlovu, Willard 'Mawii' Khumalo, Rahman 'Rush' Gumbo, the late Benjamin 'Mackanaky' Nkonjera (RIP), Adam 'Adamski' and Peter 'Nsukuzonke' Ndlovu are not down and out. They have a point to prove and supporters to entertain. They are a team on a mission.
True fans and supporters have stood up to be counted, pledging to contribute USD5,00 per month for members, and $1,00 per month for all else. While the match is supposed to raise ANTI-XENOPHOBIC awareness, it is no secret the team profile benefits and all the team lovers will be glad to know sponsors associate with teams that fill stadiums. The team counts on you for the support and financial contribution.
One of many passionate supporters, Owen asked how they "can contribute to our darling team, meaning we are far from home, and who will monitor our funds?" vowing the team shall never die. Apparently, there is a fans association in South Africa and a Group on Facebook, FOR THE LOVE AND WORTHY CAUSE OF IBOSSO who can further explain details of their activities. It is an example of how much people want to help, not just talk, criticise and complain. I personally asked Themba Ndlela, the Chairman, the channels available for any help that may come in. He is still to come back and give direction for the readers of the blog.
Mackenzie could only say "My love 4 Bosso will never die."
There was a very emotional note from Mehluli who said "Its a touching story especially fo a team l used to worship when l was at home back then. Am not rich but l pledge to drop a penny as soon as there is a place where l can drop it. Any account yet? BOSSO will live to see tomorrow!"
Buy your tickets now because Bosso is wondering: Where is your contribution? When will you play your part?

ReplyDeleteI was at the Bosso game on Sunday in Jozi and it was jaw dropping sight the moment I got into the stadium to see thousands of Bosso supporters clad in black and white flags flapping everywhere and I am sure Cosmos supportres didn't expect that. I only saw 3 of them by the way. It felt like BF and it confirmed that this is a team that is loved deeply by those of us who grew up with this team. We may have lost touch with who the players are but okusalayo we support the team and are prepared to drop a penny or two to save the team.
ReplyDeleteMpintshi, the team exist because of positive people like you. It is nice to hear you took time to attend. The performance was another issue. The truth is that the players always felt like orphans. Now they know the impact they have on people that far away. I bet they will be pushing harder and will do better from now on.
ReplyDeleteUnjani uDougie British Mloyi, umalumakho? That is a fuuny man. He always told me stories that broke my ribs.
