THE Mbada Diamonds Cup draw which is scheduled for this Friday in Harare promises all the thrills for the fans. The Premier Soccer League president Twine Phiri confirmed on Monday that the tournament would kick off next week. He said the sponsors had come up with a good prize money break down.
"The draw is set for Friday, everything is sealed, they are sponsoring our 16-team tournament. We have worked hard to get improvements in a number of areas from last year's hosting and we hope it will be more exciting and explosive this time around," said Phiri.
Winners of the tournament will represent Zimbabwe in the Confederation Cup.
Phiri said he was sure the final would be played by the end of November so that on the lastday of the month the Confederation of African Football receives the name of Zimbabwe's representatives.
Mbada Diamonds corporate services executive George Manyaya confirmed that this year the tournament is better than last year.
He said the matches would be spread all over the country.
"We can promise the nation a great soccer tournament and I can assure all that we also learnt a lot from the inaugural competition.
"We have been making a lot of consultations with all relevant stakeholders and we believe we are set for another great show of football," Manyaya told our Harare Bureau on Monday.
