This is Juicy Stuff Right There - Unbeliebable.

You may know about Ndumiso Gumede and Benedict Moyo are facing arrest. This is too much politics for football. Where is FIFA to close this thing down. Ok, the crime? They hired Tom Saintfiet who conducted training for the Warriors without a work permit for the Cape Verde. There has been reports of the Belgian waiting in South Africa or Francistown, Botswana.
The complainant in the case is said is Zifa president Cuthbert Dube. What is serious about this, is the fact that the national association president want the 2 arrested for his board decision to hire Saintfiet. It turns out to be a very sensitive issue. This has raised emotions and there is likely to be a can of worms opening soon. You may be happy thinking it may be edible worms, but trust me, you won't like. I can smell the stink already.
It is reported Moyo was invited by police on Saturday at a time that coincided with an important Zifa board meeting, which was supposed to discuss the issue of the national team coach. Activities of Mafia nature have been going on and some too sensitive to report. Moyo says he had been receiving calls from private numbers by people claiming to be police. More mind boggling is the pending arrest of basically junior officers for ZIFA business when there is a president and chief executive officer of the association.

Gumede once travelled across the country like Joshua Nkomo dressed as an old woman to the capital and is also wondering why there is a case for him to answer when he was not part of the technical committee that appointed the foreign coach, which is headed by Zifa second vice president Kenny Marange. Its members include Moyo, Solomon Mugavazi (Northern Region chairman), Twine Phiri (Premier Soccer League), Methembe Ndlovu (board member development), Gift Banda (Southern Region) and Patrick Hokonya (Central Region).

The issue here hovers around a 'ZIFA board member' opposed to the appointment of Saintfeit who swore not to rest until the appointment of Saintfiet was nullified. Saintfiet was labelled an illegal immigrant  and orders from the country’s immigration authorities to leave were swiftly served to him. At that point, rumours were abound that he was going to coach the team by remote, a fact Madinda Ndlovu refuted after the 0-0 draw.

The juiciest part of this honeycomb is that in the past some foreign coaches had been granted work permits while within the confines of the country. The Sunday News claims to have sources that say it took 20 minutes for former Highlanders Egyptian coach, Mohammed Fathi, to get a work permit over the counter and that another former Highlanders mentor Eddie May, it required 30 minutes to secure a work permit when he joined army side Black Rhinos in 2003. Maybe Bosso and Rhinos should have been tasked with Saintfeit's appointment, but this is serious matter.

Saintfeit was adamant before he got his marching orders that he was going to have his papers sorted out, siting former Warriors Brazilian coach Valinhos, who got his work permit in two days, a process that was done while he was in the country. A genuine need for the coach would have resulted in a temporary permit being sorted out for him so he could work on Sunday, leave and have his permits sorted out and come back after due processes were complete. At this point, Saintfeit's work permits are not guaranteed at all.

As reported earlier on this blog, Norman Mapeza seems to have been a favourite for many and we will not speculate why. For whatever reason, despite his lack of the requisite O-levels, he does not have the decent coaching qualifications. He is said to have struggled in a CAF C License. He had to meet further minimum requirements like ZIFA Advanced/Level Four Coaching Certificate or equivalent, FIFA/CAF Advanced Course Coaching Certificate or equivalent, UEFA A Licences or equivalent. He has done well with Monomotapa, winning the local championship, but a national team is a different kettle of fish altogether.

It never ceases to amaze me, but why do you think there is all this fuss?
