Highlanders dropped their first pair of points under care-taker coach, Mkhuphali Masuku, when they drew 1-1 with title favourites and log leaders, Motor Action. The Mighty Bulls have been in fine form and coming a Bosso side that has been steam rolling was never going to be an easy task. They actually just managed a point as Highlanders could have collected maximum points with better luck.
Bosso can now only get a maximum of 59 points, not helping their cause even if the top 2 teams lose all their matches. Motor Action and Dynamos are tied on 60 points, after Dynamos picked up valuable points against relegation candidates FC Victoria. A 3-1 win put the championship wide open.
Bosso earlier surrendered easy points to Dembare due to crowd trouble. The match was abandoned and the disciplinary committee awarded the Harare giants the points. Tshilamoya could have been in the hunt and they could have been motivated to beat The Mighty Bulls themselves to put their point tally to 55, leaving the Bulls with 59 and Dembare with 57.
That being water under the bridge, hats off to Mr Cooper, with a fine run that has even thrown him for the Coach of the Year nomination. One can only hope for continuation at the beginning of the new season. Rumours of Benjamin Moyo, Rahman Gumbo, Willard Khumalo and myself coaching Bosso are now abound, but as we all know, do not change a winning formula and such distraction do not help the executive committee, the team or the fans.
