Chiefs rule over Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs defended their Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday with an incredible 3-0 slaughter of Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium. This came fresh after a last month 3-1 drubbing in a league clash at the same venue.

Chiefs were just too powerful for Pirates as they ran rings around the confused and clueless opponents. The Bucs ran like chickens without heads and literally froze in crucial moments both going forward and on the defensive.

Amakhosi had their story right straight early on and were 1-0 up due to poor defensive behaviour and they were punished by double scorer Sithembiso Ngcobo. Siphiwe Tshabalala killed off the Sea Robbers with a typical clinical finish at the end. Chiefs secured the same title twice in one year after they won last season's Knockout Cup in April this year, due to the provision for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Abafana bokuthula noxolo made history by winning the competition for the 13th time since it was launched in 1992. They are in good mood and they may be title contenders if they carry the form forward. Knowing football players, it is a performance they will only draw out of their resources only for the not-so-Happy People.

Pirates looked completely lost at the FNB Stadium and it was funny when they cried and layid back on the grass, some with their faces in their hands after the match. It looked like they felt dejected or robbed. What a watse of emotion!
