Prosecutor Rapes Teenage Maid Twice ,;Dembare flag used To Wipe Blood

A CHINHOYI regional prosecutor allegedly raped his teenage maid twice after she turned down his love proposal.

Admore Shekede (35) was not asked to plead when he appeared before regional magistrate Ms Adiona Masawi who remanded the matter to October 22 this year for trial.

The complainant is a 16-year-old girl who was employed as a maid by Shekede.

Prosecutor Mr Sidom Chinzete alleges that on February 7 this year at about 2am, Shekede arrived home and found the teenager ironing clothes.

He allegedly sat on a sofa and invited the girl to sit next to him.

The State says the girl turned down the offer, but Shekede persisted until she complied.

Shekede, the court heard, proposed love to the minor who shot down his proposal.

He allegedly grabbed her hand and dragged her into his bedroom and threatened her with unspecified action if she screamed.

The prosecutor is alleged to have forcibly removed the girl's under garments and raped her twice.

After raping her, it is alleged, he told her to go and sleep.

The girl complied and went to the dining room and discovered that she was bleeding.

She allegedly took Shekede's Dynamos Football Club flag and used it to wipe off the blood.

The State will produce the blood stained flag as an exhibit.

The following morning she reportedly showed a neighbour the blood-stained flag while narrating her story.

The State says she also phoned her uncle and informed him that Shekede had raped her.

The girl was later accompanied to Chinhoyi Central Police Station where she was referred to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.

She was medically examined and a  medical report to be used in the case was compiled.

Bosso Is Not inside but ontop.

Bosso Live Match Report
Hwange..........0
Highlanders....1
A last minute Masimba Mambare strike was all Highlanders needed to go back to the top of the Castle Lager Premier League Log.
Hwange started the stronger, pumping in long balls and bypassing the midfield. The first chance of the game fell to hwange when their lone striker hustled his way past Atlast but shot straight at Ariel who punched the ball back into play and the rebound fell to another Hwange forward whose header crashed against the woodwork. Hwange continued piling on the pressure and in the 25th min Mdzingwa received a goal kick pass from Ariel, he slipped and failed to control the ball, a Hwange striker pounced, shot straight and Ariel made a diving save. Bosso then reorganised with Mambare and Bheki exchanging positions and Munawa started winning more balls in the centre. We started piling on the pressure but their defenders stood solid winning most of the ariel balls. Hwange then resorted to some rough play which saw Bosso winning a lot of free kicks outside the 18 area box. The teams went to the breather tied at nil all with the hot weather seeming to have affected play. The second half resumed with the Bosso gaffer making a substitution, Beavan Chikaka replacing Bhekimpilo Ncube who was out of sorts. Hwange continued with their strong defending and on 62min Peter Rio came in for Milton who was tightly marked throughout. The game changed tempo with some good combination by Rio Chikaka and Ozias but the goal just wouldn't come. In the 70th min Mzdingwa tried a long range shot just outside the centre circle in Hwange`s half and it missed the goal by inches. Kaindu then made another tactical change with Heritan Masuku coming in for Bruce Kangwa and so the formation changed to 3-5-2. Heritan made some good runs on the right, combining well with Rio but we lacked that final touch, Chikaka shot and hit the side net. With the game seemingly heading for a draw and Hwange players looking comfortable with that they started time wasting tactics. Three minutes into injury time and still goalless Bosso then won a free kick just outside the box and quick thinking by who Mthulisi rightly didnt wait for the referee nor the Hwange players to organise, he quickly played the ball to Mambare who also didn't hesitate and shot streight at goal with the Keeper punching the ball into his own net. With the Bosso family celebrating the Hwange team mobbed the ref protesting. The ref then blew for full-time soon after the restart. Bosso supporters who where in the majority went wild with joy. Wonderfull scenes of happy people.

Bosso rises and Dynamos flops

Bosso beat Hwange 1-0 with a last minute goal while Dynamos slumped to a similar scoreline to Chicken Inn.

Dembare Dispute With Hwange To be heard ,

The dispute over the match between Dynamos and Wankie will now be heard by the Commercial Arbitration Centre who will make a binding decision after Wankie appealed against a Zifa Appeals Committee to award the game to Dynamos.

The dispute has dragged for long after a Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee ruled that the game which Dynamos won 4-2 be replayed at a neutral venue after Dynamos marshals assaulted Wankie coaches Nation Dube and Mabelo Njekwa before the game.

Dynamos then appealed against the Disciplinary Committee decision and a Zifa Appeals Committee ruled in their favour forcing the PSL to reinstate the three points that had been deducted after the
Disciplinary Committee decision.

But Wankie who are languishing in the bottom half of the PSL league table has refused to throw in the towel and have appealed against the Zifa Appeals Committee decision forcing the matter to go for
arbitration.

Zifa Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Mashingaidze confirmed that the matter was now in the hands of the Commercial Arbitration Centre saying they are waiting for a final judgment on the case.

Another interested part is that Highlanders will also waiting for the decision with bated breath as it also affects them on the league standings.

Dynamos are on top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, two points above Highlanders on the strength of the three points from the disputed Wankie game.

Should the Arbitration Centre rule in favour of Wankie the three points will fall away and Highlanders will go top by a point.

Wankie are also desperate for a replay as they also need the three points as they are not safe from relegation as they are in 10thposition in the 16 team assembly.

Four teams are relegated to the first division at the end of the season and replaced by four teams from the four first divisions that make up Zimbabwean football.

This is not the first time that a football dispute has been referred to the Commercial Arbitration Centre after the promotion battle between Hardbody and Tripple B last year in which Hardbody finally won.

Bosso is not inside - it's on top

A collection of maximum points after a solitary goal at the Barbourfields Stadium was enough for Highlanders  to return to the summit of the Castle Premier League, dislodging Dynamos of Harare who have a game in hand that they may not win.

Bosso recorded an amazing 22nd 'lossless' stretch to equal Zimbabwe Saints' feat when Chikwata was under the tutelage of Roy Barretto. Mambare was the man who scored the vital goal.

It was the ingenuity of the coach and a guts performance by man-of-the-match Eric Mudzingwa that subdued  Shabanie Mine. The asbestos  miners had their record to maintain as well, which they kept intact. They could not record a win at Barbourfields against Amahlolanyama.

Mapuranga gave a good account of himself as well. The win is a much needed relief to fans who were looking forward to a good week after a few draws of the past. It also puts the pressure back on the throne pretenders as they have to play catch-up.

It's not inside - it's on top.

Bosso board summons Nkomo

ODIEL Nkomo is expected to appear before the Highlanders disciplinary committee tomorrow over allegations that he took $6 680 owed to his company by the club without authority from the executive.

His actions were in direct conflict with an executive resolution passed at the beginning of the year that all payments should be agreed upon by the executive. This was meant to ensure all creditors receive fair treatment.

Jimmy Ncube, the board's spokesman confirmed that Nkomo would appear before the disciplinary committee in an interview yesterday.

Justice Nicholas Mathonsi, a member of the Highlanders board, will chair the committee which falls under the human resources portfolio and has Cosmas Sikhosana, retired colonel Thomas Ngwenya and Andrew Tapela. Respected labour expert Ndumiso Sibanda who is a member of the club's finance and turn around committee, has been seconded to the disciplinary committee by the board.

The Bosso board met on Wednesday last week after the goalless draw against Chicken Inn and agreed that the disciplinary committee should summon Nkomo to a hearing. According to sources, the meeting was emotionally charged.

"It is true that the disciplinary committee will meet soon to deliberate on the issue you are asking about (the $6 680 which Nkomo allegedly paid himself) but the best person to talk to is their chairman Mathonsi. He will assist you with the dates," said Ncube.

The much-awaited Battle of Zimbabwe Part One had 25 957 people paying to watch the epic battle which ended in a 1-1 draw.

That was the biggest crowd that the league recorded in the first half of the season.

Bosso grossed $104 445 but service providers gobbled most of the funds leaving cash- strapped club with only $40 500. The Bulawayo City Council took their share of $20 885 with security that is the police and private security gobbling $9 800 while the PSL got $9 200 including Zifa's $1 044. The Sport and Recreation Commission received its six percent which amounted to $6 200.

Ncube said the hearing would bring to finality to what appears to be a simple case but has taken the board more than two months to resolve.

A source close to proceedings said Tapela was unlikely to sit in the hearing involving his peer as the constitution  stipulates that only board members can preside over issues involving executive members.

"According to the Highlanders constitution, it is only the board of directors who have the power to discipline and suspend executive members," said a source last night. The source said the process was not a witch-hunt as some people want to believe but is meant to ensure that club funds are not abused.

After the hearing whatever decision is arrived at will be subject to ratification by members at either an extra-ordinary general meeting or annual general meeting.

Indications last night were that the club auditors had engaged on another probe.

The auditors suspect that they could be discrepancies in figures at the club and those at the league.

Masomere praises King KK

LUKE Masomere has praised Zambian coaches for taking local soccer to a higher level.

"Keagan Mumba, Tennant Chilumba and Kevin Kaindu have taken our soccer to a higher level.

"People had shunned Hwange Stadium and Barbourfields but fans are now coming to the stadia in their numbers because of the Zambian flavour," said Masomere.

He spoke highly of Kaindu whom he said does not attack referees. His team  has been victim of poor refereeing for most of the season.

"I have never heard Kaindu blasting the referees but he respects the outcome of the match.

"He is a true professional and no other Zimbabwean coach has taken Highlanders to 21 unbeaten games except for our good friend Kaindu who is from neighbouring Zambia.

"Chilumba also introduced good football in Hwange and they have added value to local football and the same is true of Mumba when he was with Dynamos," he said.

Masomere also took time to heap praise on match officials.

"Referees have been very fair this season and I am very happy about their performance. They can however make mistakes here and there because to err is human and as professional coaches when they make mistakes we must not crucify them," he said.

Masomere was speaking ahead of his clash on Sunday against Bosso who are still to lose a match. The praises on Kaindu and referees could just be part of the mind games.

The asbestos miners have never beaten Highlanders at Emagumeni since their promotion in 2001.

"History does not play a part in football. Shabanie has never beaten Highlanders in Bulawayo but Masomere has done it. I want to remind Kaindu that Vahombe will be in town on Sunday and he must be prepared for a battle.

I praised them when they beat us 2 -0 at Maglas because they were fired up," he said.

Masomere also took a swipe at some local coaches describing them as musicians.

"Some coaches are like musicians they shout 'ref, infringement, throw-in, raise your flag, put it down'. They spend the entire 90 minutes singing.

Supersport is here and the whole world is now watching us.

We do our work during the week and during match day we must leave the officials to do their work," said the Shabanie Mine gaffer.

He took a swipe at teams that want to buy success.

Highlanders coach Kaindu has also praised the referees.

"The officials are doing good work. They take charge of our matches and we must support them all the time so that they continue to improve," said Kaindu.

Masomere's   team is fired up to play Highlanders on Sunday and besides missing the services of Pervington Zimunya who lost his elder brother last Sunday, the team is geared up.

"I respect Highlanders as they are our brothers. When we played at Maglas the atmosphere was friendly and I expect the same on Sunday. Bosso are unbeaten and Shabanie are playing very well so fans must expect a thriller," said Masomere.

He tipped Caleb Masocha to give Highlanders all sorts of problems.

Nelson Maziwisa will carry the flag high for the asbestos miners and is expected to get enough support from former Bosso son Tarisai Rukanda who was discarded by the Egyptian Mohammed Fathi.

Highlanders are racing against time hoping that their reliable defenders Eric Mudzingwa and Bruce Kangwa who have had a terrific season recover in time for the tricky weekend encounter.

Meanwhile, Chicken Inn's gaffer Adam Ndlovu is hoping for an improved performance from his charges who had a disappointing game last weekend when they lost 3-2 to Gunners.

Chicken Inn takes on Black Mambas at Morris Depot tomorrow.

"We were not at our best against Gunners and I think complacency contributed to the loss. I believe we are still within our target of ending the season in a respectable position and we just have to do our best and get positive results," said Ndlovu, the former Warriors striker.

Chicken Inn will miss the services of Herbert Dick and anchorman Sydney Linyama due to suspensions.
Dick has been struggling with his form and his unavailability might be a blessing in disguise for Guide Goddard who has been overlooked at the expense of veteran Dick.

Former FC Platinum player Ntokozo Tshuma who has been a bench warmer might also get a starting place in the absence of Linyama.

It's the clash of the bottom teams when Bulawayo's struggling Quelaton take on fellow relegation threatened Blue Rangers on Sunday in Harare.

Fixtures
Saturday: Black Mambas v Chicken Inn (Morris Depot), Monomotapa v Hwange (Rufaro), FC Platinum v Caps United (Mandava)
Sunday: Hardbody v Gunners (Ascot), Highlanders v Shabanie Mine (Barbourfields), Dynamos v Motor Action (Rufaro), Blue Rangers v Quelaton (Gwanzura), Buffaloes v Harare City (Sakubva)

Highlanders is on track

(A late days late but read). Highlanders Football Club have been singing the blues in the last few years, either leading their finances to be in the red or due to being in such. Whether they will scoop the league title this year after hitting purple patch of their current season, is still a grey area as rivals have been hand-picked to the summit of the table and match officials seem to bare their agenda for all to see. Referees have been on Bosso's case lately in an embarrassing manner.

Hoping for the green light to compete in the CAF Champions League is motivation enough for coach Kelvin Kaindu's men in black and white. Working on the team's mentality and tactics will never easy for the coach and team, given the man feels pressure himself. One can pretend to be strong and keep his head above water.

That pressure naturally comes with working with a team that has no problems. In cases where the finances are a worries, and then some boardroom decisions are badly cooked, the favouritism from the referees, injuries, suspensions, lack of depth and bad form of key players, trying to work on systems that produce results week in and week out can be an uphill task.

In an ideal situation, even excellent systems and tactics fail. They collapse even without an opposition. When you add one obstacle, the situation worsens if two are added and then in a match there are eleven. Everyone has a bad day in office and it helps no one if the whole team is off tune.

Of course, trying to appease a wonderful sea of black and white fans and supporters tops the agenda for the coach, who has incredibly place the team on a higher platform that expected so far. Strategically piecing the puzzle together for next year, Kaindu instilled discipline and workmanship of lofty standards on and off the pitch.

The club boasts of professional footballers committed to the cause, making the average look good. The catchment area of the club and grooming the youth development products can be one attribution to rounded performances.

Earlier in the year and in one of my books, there was a piece of how to convert a hopeless situation to a narrow loss, a lost cause to a draw and a gruelling draw to a bad win and then trying to play good football and winning. If you imagined that to be an event, it is unfortunate. In each of the above, it would take a season. The Zambian coach convinced many by the beautiful matches the players displayed. He could be ahead in some aspects, but there will always be a trailing leg.

Given the thumb, fans demand the whole arm, a very grateful gesture from the ignorant. Some tactically aspects will be very easy for some players, but others will be demanding. Even on the simple ones, sometimes the most brilliant players fail to comprehend. That is the nature of a football match -  its anatomy.

In a nutshell, this is a spectrum of things as only at the end of the rainbow is the treasure.

Injuries Scare Hit Bosso Camp

BULAWAYO soccer giants Highlanders have been hit by an injury scare which will require defensive duo of Eric Mudzingwa and Bruce Kangwa to undergo late fitness tests ahead of the Shabanie Mine game at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday. Highlanders' team doctor Xolani Ndlovu confirmed the developments yesterday and said they were closely monitoring the players.

Mudzingwa, a vital cog at central defence for Highlanders, was voted man of the match against Blue Rangers in the opening round of the Mbada Diamonds Cup, has an ankle injury while Kangwa is having his knee treated.

Already Bosso are missing the services of defender Bruce Tshuma who is expected to return from injury in a fortnight.

However, Highlanders' faithfuls should not despair as exciting attacking midfielder Masimba Mambare is back at training and will be available for selection.

"The good news is that Mambare is back at training and is available for selection. On the gloomy side, we have two players who have injuries and these are Mudzingwa and Kangwa.

"We are keeping an eye on them and I can be in a better position to comment whether they are fit for the Shabanie Mine game towards the end of the week," said Ndlovu.

Should the two regular players fail to recover on time, former Bantu Rover Dumisani "Fazo" Ndlovu will stand in for Mudzingwa in central defence where he will partner skipper Innocent Mapuranga while Honest Moyo could play as a left wingback.

It is on the offensive side where Highlanders have lost steam and the return of Mambare should aid their cause when they seek to tear apart their opponents.

Mambare was missed during the last Castle Lager Premiership match against Chicken Inn as Bosso failed to open Chicken Inn's defenders because of lack of creativity.

No one could take on opponents the way the former Motor Action winger does.

Young Ozias Zibande, scorer of the winning goal against Blue Rangers at the weekend and Cleopas Dube who is itching to pay back Bosso who signed him from ZPC Hwange, are competing for attacking places with Graham Ncube who is becoming impotent at goal.

Bosso with 47 points from 21 outings are two points behind log leaders and defending champions Dynamos.

If ever they entertain any hopes of winning the championship which they last lifted in 2006, the Bulawayo giants should avoid dropping points so that they keep pressure on Dynamos.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu should now take a gamble as he has been with some misfiring players like Graham and try out Beavan Chikaka and Cleopas Dube in attack.

Shabanie Mine, who are third on the log and trail Bosso by nine points, will not be pushovers and they will give the Bulawayo giants a good run for their money and Highlanders should keep a close eye on Chinda Boys' strikers Nelson Mazivise and Tarisai Rukanda.

Meanwhile, Hwange's gaffer Tenant Chilumba is confident that his team's bad spell that has seen the coalminers going for five games without a win will soon come to an end.

Hwange last won in Week 16 when they beat Caps United 3-2 at home. They went on to draw against Gunners, Harare City and Chicken Inn and lost by identical 2-1 scorelines to Motor Action and Shabanie Mine.

The Zambian expatriate said the root of their poor form was that the players had concentrated on the Caf Confederations Cup too much.

"What we need to do is concentrate on our games and if you look closely, we have been losing concentration and losing games we were supposed to win. I must admit our performance has been below par but we are working on improving. I believe this spell shall come to pass.

"The problem is that we put too much focus in the Caf competition and when we were knocked out the players did not take that well and morale went low. It has really been tough but the management has been supportive and we hope to come out of this," Chilumba said.

Hwange have a tricky tie against Monomotapa in Harare, a side who they beat 5-1 in the first leg played at the Colliery Stadium in May.

Chipangano will be without the services of their injured striker Francisco Zvikumbawire.

Chilumba will bank on veteran Gilbert Zulu and national team attacking midfielder Rodwell Chinyengetere to lead the attack.

David Boriwondo, Gerald Ndlovu and Aaron Katebe are expected to marshal the defence.

Fixtures
Saturday: Black Mambas v Chicken Inn (Morris Depot), Monomotapa v Hwange (Rufaro), FC Platinum v Caps United (Mandava)

Bosso Cruise To Next Stage of Mbada Diamond Cup

BOSSO LIVE MATCH REPORT
HIGHLANDERS F.C………2
BLUE RANGERS…………..1
SUPER SUB OZIAS 'OZIZIEY' ZIBANDE rose from the bench to propel Bosso into the quarter finals of the Mbada Diamonds Cup with a superbly taken goal in added time of a lacklustre encounter played at Barbourfields stadium on Saturday. The goal lit up what had been an otherwise frustrating afternoon for the home side. It was one of the worst performances put up by Kevin Kaindu's charges since the Zambian gaffer took over at the beginning of the year. The team seemed overawed by the occasion and perhaps the money at stake as very little went right for us. Indiscipline and negative tactics from our opponents won the day for us as their plans to waste time by feigning injuries back fired. Rangers finished with 10men.

Still missing the services of the injured duo Masimba Mambare and Bruce Tshuma, Bosso fielded the same team that drew with Chicken Inn bar Lawson Nkomo who came in for Atlast Musasa. We started the game well enough with neat interchange of passes. On one such foray Bhekimpilo Ncube found Graham Ncube with a splitting pass on the edge of the box, the latter set up Milton who shot tamely at goal. We probed till we got the opener via a well placed header from Bhekimpilo off an inch perfect cross by Lawson Nkomo from the right wing. We were coasting at that stage until Rangers against the run ofp lay broke on the right and a cross to the box found a lone striker who twisted and turned despite being guarded by three defenders to toe poke the equalizer past Ariel Sibanda. We lost the plot from there on. Rangers were not impressive themselves save for their pint sized #22 Norest, who exhibited nimble footedness. The Rangers keeper started time wasting in the first half and was booked when he delayed in taking a goal kick. The first half fizzled out.

The second stanza was lukewarm with neither side wanting to take the game by the scruff of the neck. A spate of substitutions was made but the quality of the game never improved. As time ran out and Rangers sensing penalties started to employ negative tactics wasting time. And so came the talking point. Bosso broke clear and when Chikaka was set up he shot miles over bar. Instead of taking a goal kick, the goalie feigned injury and went down with no one near or around him. The referee charged in to issue a second yellow and subsequently a dismissal when he was confronted by seething Rangers players who besieged him and never allowed him to get to the goal keeper. They protested vehemently and decided to walk off. The referee stood his ground and after a long 'treatment' the keeper was finally red carded. Astonishingly the goalie sprung and was gunning determined to man handle the referee and possible give the official a hiding but the team alert team medic and ZRP officials had to stop him before he could mete out instant 'justice'. A 15 minute stoppage ensured as Rangers held a caucus meeting by their bench.

They eventually decided to abandon their ill-advised protests and took back to the field. Play resumed and on 90minutes an additional 15minutes were added. With a man advantage we pounded the Rangers goal. The breakthrough finally came in the 103rd minute when Ozias ZIbande out jumped all to loop a header up and over the keeper into the nets of a Kangwa cross. A sigh of relief more than anything swept through Barbourfields as we limped over the line to set up a date with Monomotapa in the quarter finals. Monoz beat Hardbody 3-2 at Dulibadzimu, Bietbridge.

Player Exodus at one of The PSL Club

PLAYERS at struggling Bulawayo Premiership club Quelaton have threatened to desert the sinking team after their participation in the country's richest tournament, the Mbada Holdings Diamonds Cup which starts this weekend.

Quelaton, who suffered a heavy 4-0 home defeat to FC Platinum without giving a fight, face Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday in the first round of the Mbada Diamonds Cup.

Senior players said morale in camp had hit rock bottom and what was keeping them at the club was $100 participation fee that they would receive after the Dynamos game.

"The truth is, the players are not motivated and this is frustrating the guys. We are living on the little money we get from the director (Tawanda Ruzive) and most of the times it's only a few players who get it. After this tournament (Mbada Diamonds Cup), you will see that most of the players will walk away," said one player.

Some of the players claim that they are still owed signing-on fees.

They are hoping that after the diamonds powered competition, they will get part of their dues.

In the mid-season window, Quelaton parted ways with their former skipper Amani Makhiwa who joined Zifa Central Region Division One Soccer League log leaders Tripple B.

He was followed by former national Under-17 utility player Proud Zireni who is said to have left for Botswana in search of greener pastures.

The players claim the departure of the two players was just a tip of the iceberg of the problems that were bedevilling the once ambitious Bulawayo club.

"A player exodus is looming because the guys feel they have had enough and they want to move on. Those who will be lucky and be part of the 18-man squad for the Dynamos game can salvage something before they leave.

"Most of the guys wanted to leave during the mid-season transfer-window but they changed heart after being told that they will get their dues from proceeds of the Mbada Diamonds Cup," said another player.

If Quelaton lose to Dynamos on Sunday, they are guaranteed of $10 000. The club might also get half the amount as they have an outstanding $5 000 fine they have to pay to the league after being charged for using a suspended player during their 3-0 loss to Motor Action in the first half of the season.

In a letter to the club's secretary, PSL noted that Quelaton fielded Zibusiso Sibanda who had been expelled in a league match against Shabanie Mine on 6 April.

Responding to player unrest at his club, Ruzive said the club had an open door policy but warned players that they had contracts which they had to fulfil.

He conceded that they were on their way to the unfashionable Division One Soccer League.

"You know when things are not going on well, a lot is said. I can understand the frustration the boys are going through because we are not winning even at home and to be realistic, that is not good at all and we have to start planning for Division One. This is not to say we will go down without a fight.

"On the players walking out, it must be noted that they have contracts and they have to play all the remaining games. We will not stand in players' way if they want to move. It is not a secret that in terms of resources we are struggling and this is affecting a number of teams in the league because there are no sponsors. The little that we have had we have tried to give the players so that they have something," said Ruzive.

He said some of the players deserved to be in the Premiership and was hopeful that the players would use the remaining games to market themselves.

Some of the players who have showed flashes of brilliance at the relegation-bound club include midfielders Timothy January, Eddie Nkulungo, Innocent Kutsanzira and on-loan Sibanda who is from New West City

Player warned Of Moving Abroad

Former Zimbabwe national team player and 1992 Castle Soccer Star of the Year, Wilfred Mugeyi, has warned Warriors midfielder, Khama Billiart, against moving early to Europe, saying the move may kill his career.

This follows reports that a number of clubs such as England, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium are interested in securing the services of the Ajax Cape Town midfielder, who was Zimbabwe's man of the match in the 3-1 win over Angola last Sunday.

Mugeyi, an assistant coach at Ajax Cape Town, says Billiart should spend at least another season in South African football before deciding to move abroad.

"In my opinion, he still needs another year or two in the Premier Soccer League to gain more experience before he goes to Europe. Sending the boy to Europe now will destroy him since he still has to work on his game." says Mugeyi.

He added, "He is a key factor in the team with great technical ability. He is quick, aggressive and very confident on the ball. He has a good eye for goal and can play in any attacking position."

Billiart produced an impressive display during his team's 1-1 draw with English Premiership giants Manchester United when the Red Devils were on a tour of South Africa. He received praise from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Billiart is under the management of former Warriors midfielder Edzai Kasinauyo who himself also played in South Africa for Ajax Cape Town. Kasinauyo could not be reached to shed light on the latest developments.

Billiart had a hand in all the three goals that Zimbabwe scored in that vital 3-1 win over the Black Antelopes in the final qualifying round for a place at the 2013 African Cup of Nations finals to be held in South Africa in January.

Angola and Zimbabwe will meet in the return leg in Luanda during the weekend of 12 to 14 October.

Jambo Happy To Have Masilela At Chiefs

Zimbabwe international Zhaimu Jambo insists he is not running scared following the recent arrival of another left-back at Kaizer Chiefs in Tsepo Masilela but is instead eager to step up and learn from the Bafana Bafana defender who has spent the last five years in Europe. Jambo has been the preferred choice at left-back ahead of Keegan Ritchie but he will now have to face the colossal challenge of squaring off against Masilela for a place on the left side of defence.
"It is going to be competition as usual," said Jambo.
"At a club like Chiefs there will always be competition. That competition actually pushes you to do even better all the time which eventually benefits the team. Whoever gets the chance must give it his best. This is the kind of competition that will also be good for me because I will also improve my game as I will also learn some things from him (Masilela) seeing he has been playing in Europe. It is actually good for me to have him around," he said.
The Zimbabwean actually views the signing of Masilela as an addition aimed at adding depth.
"To me it was an addition to the team to give depth so that whenever there are injuries there is always someone available to play. With the three of us there is always cover. For him to be here it doesn't mean that I and Keegan were notdoing well enough."
While Jambo would have to contend with increasing competition at left back striker Kingston Nkhatha is encouraged by his positive start at the club especially his partnership with Bernard Parker that has been built around their camaraderie that stretches to off the field. Nkhatha has scored two league goals in the opening three games with his partner Bernard Parker standing on four giving hope that they could develop a productive combination this season for Chiefs.
"I and Bernard always talk a lot even when we are not on the field. We always talk about the way we need to move around so as to create spaces for each other and the way someone must also make use of that space that we are creating," said Nkhatha adding that he was happy to see Parker doing the business for Bafana Bafana on Tuesday night with a brace against Mozambique.
"Oh, yes I was happy. With the way he was running up and down I knew he was going to score".
The former Warriors striker also notes that he has settled in well at Chiefs where he has fellow homeboys Jambo, Lincoln Zvasiya, Willard Katsande and recent arrival Matthew Rusike.
"Everything has gone on well and I am coping well with the demands that come with playing for Chiefs because pressure was always there even when I was at Leopards. I am playing according to how the coach wants us to play and its okay. I now just want to see us continue scoring goals so that I help the team win games to enable us to win trophies.
"The presence of fellow countryman is a good motivation because I have felt at home and settled from the very first day that I joined the club. Always having someone from homehas been extremely helpful in settling in. As homeboys we always talk about working hard and being focused on the job at hand.
"We always remind each other that we are here to work and that this is what will always be the priority for as long as we are here. We are not here to lazy around and do funny things,"said the former Black Leopards forward.
Masilela – who is injury prone – is currently out injured and will most likely only start becoming available for selection next month.
As he gets moving into his fourth season at Naturena, Jambo notes that his stay at the club has built his character so much that he no longer plays with fear.
"I have become a better player through the years that I have spent at Chiefs because I now don't play with fear and don't put myself under pressure when I play. If you don't play with fear it allows you to play your normal game," he said.

Chicken Inn And Bosso Match

BOSSO LIVE MATCH REPORT
Chicken Inn……….0
Bosso………………..0

Host team Chicken Inn put up a drab showing by employing unorthodox tactics to frustrate Highlanders in a highly uninspiring match played at Barbourfields Stadium. The match inevitably fizzled out to a goal less draw.
The home team never showed any intentions of wanting to win the game and seemed content with sitting back and playing for a point. Their only route to goal came via the tired old technique of long throw ins by Evans Chikwaikwai which all came to nothing. Rough and over the top tackles were the order of the day. Bosso were missing the services of Masimba Mambare and Bruce Tshuma due to injury and Peter "Rio" Moyo could join them on the sidelines as he finished the game limping after being the target of nasty challenges.
The Chicken Inn medic was the busier of the medics as he had to attend to his players who for the large part were feigning injury. This was evidenced by the uncharacteristic high number of drop balls that the referee had to preside over after stopping play countless times. The goalkeeper Nyoni was booked for time wasting and his on field players were lackadaisical when it came to taking free kicks and throw ins.

The home team also decided to withdraw ball boys as soon as the second half tipped off and they were sent to the stands. No one was left to pick up balls out of touch. It came as a surprise when only one minute was added by the referee as additional time.

Going back to the game, chances themselves were few and far between. Our first real opening came in the 10th minute when Bhekimpilo Ncube's powerful and low free kick just went wide of the post. Milton Ncube then waltzed his way past a couple of bemused defenders and was face to face with the goalie albeit from a tight angle and his effort was parried by the latter for a corner kick.

There was a huge penalty appeal when Milton appeared to have been muscled off the ball illegal by Hebert Dick. The referee had his whistle in his mouth about to blow for an infringement but unbelievably & instanteously changed his mind and called for play on.

Bosso upped their game in the second half with some delightful quick passes. It left Chicken Inn defenders flat footed and when Rio found Milton, the latter hurried his shot and it went wide of goal again. The best chance of the game came when Rio left three chicken inn players for dead and rolled the ball to Graham Ncube who only had to tap it into an empty net but inexplicably hit a tame effort back across goal and against a stumbling defender.
The game then fizzled out. Bosso remain 2nd and Chicken Inn 7th, 15 points off pace.
